Riding Hogsback in Durango, Colorado
These pictures make me want to go try and clean Hogsback on my freeride mountain bike. It’s a difficult descent, that’s for sure.

I think it’s actually harder to get your bike UP to the top than to ride it back down. Level of difficulty upwards of course is compounded by bike weight.
Freeride bike is probably a little overkill on the descent, but it makes it fun. You should do it!

Last time I tried it was about 13 years ago on a rigid frame. I definitely had to put a foot down a bunch of times.

Always wondered about these ridge trails, as seen from town when on vacation. They stick out like a bully taunting me! Cool to find this blog with the photos. I’m going to ride this next time I’m in Durango!

Glad you found it! I’m going to ride that ridge too, here, before the summer is over.
